What is a FIBC Bulk Bag?
FIBC Bags (FIBC Bulk Bag Tape), Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers, also known as Bulk Bags, Jumbo Bags, Big Bags or Ton Bags. It is a flexible transportation packaging container made of fibers of polypropylene or polyethylene. It can be easily moved by a crane or forklift in loading and transportation, and is widely used for shipping bulk particulate and powdered materials, including food, grains, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, minerals, and other powdered, granular, or block items.

1. What characteristics and advantages does a FIBC Bag have?
The Characteristics:
A FIBC Bag (FIBC Bulk Bag Tape) features moisture-proof, dust-proof, radiation-resistant, sturdy and safe. It is also easily customizable such as printed logos, anti-static, UV-resistant, and puncture-resistant based on customer needs.
The Advantages:
A FIBC Bag (FIBC Bulk Bag Tape) contains advantages of labor-saving and convenient because of machine operation, such as quick loading and discharging, capable of discharging 300~500kg in less than 30 seconds. Meanwhile, it is total foldable, saving storage space.
2. What Structure and Types does a FIBC Bag Have?
The Structure:
Top: FIBC Bag (FIBC Bulk Bag Tape) is typically constructed with a filling spout and lifting loops for easy filling and lifting.
Bottom: Features a discharge spout for easy material release.
Lifting Straps: Normally a FIBC Bag has 1 lifting strap, or cross-angle lifting straps, or cross-angle 4-corner lifting straps, and ensure stability and safety during lifting.
The Types (The 6 Most Common Types of Bulk Bags):

Based on shape:
U-Panel Bulk Bags, 4-Panel Bulk Bags, Circular Bulk Bags, Baffled Bulk Bags, Single Loop Bulk Bags, and Double Loop Bulk Bags.
U-Panel Bulk Bags:
Resembling as the Letter “U”, this type of bag apply one piece of fabric fully shaping the bottom and two sides of the bag. The other two sides are usually sewn with two additional pieces of fabric. U-Panel is and industry standard and the most popular type. After being filled, the U-Panel is able to maintain a square shape.
4-Panel Bulk Bags:
This type bag is commonly built with 5 pieces of fabrics, 4 side panels and 1 base panel (mostly sewn together). This type can properly hold square shapes after being fully filled (usually better than U-Panel type). However, due to the many stitching holes, this type of bulk bag has a greater risk of leakage.
Circular Bulk Bags:
Also known as Tubular Bulk Bags. Constructed with two main body components: a whole piece fabric as the body tube sewn with a base panel. After fully filled, this type bags resemble somewhat like a square or rectangular shape rather than like it’s name as circular shape.
Baffled Bulk Bags:
Baffled Bags are also called Q Bags in some regions. A Baffle usually formed as a smaller sized fabric panel sewn inside each of a bulk bags 4 corners for reinforcement, and better support the square shape when filled. It can be seen in the structure of a U-panel, 4-panel or circular-style bag.
Single Loop Bulk Bags:
As the name indicates, the bag loop is formed by the extension of the bag body fabric, one loop per bag.
Double-loop Bulk Bags:
Two bag loops are formed by the extension of the body fabric on each side of the bag body. Both single loop type and double-loop type are widely considered as being more cost-effective in all listed construction styles.
Based on material:
Polypropylene (PP) woven bags, polyethylene (PE) woven bags, etc.
Based on function:
Anti-static Bags, UV-resistance Bags, Conductive Bags, Ventilated Bags, Food Grade Bags, Pharmaceutical Grade Bags, Aluminum Foil Bags, etc.
3. How Much Range Does a FIBC Bag Load?
Low Capacity:
0.3 tons or less. This specification of ton bags is suitable for loading lighter bulk materials.
Medium Capacity:
Between 0.3 tons and 2 tons. This is a common load specification in the market, suitable for transporting and storing various bulk goods.
High Capacity:
Between 2 tons and 3 tons. For scenarios requiring heavier loads, this high-load specification of ton bags can be selected.
4. Precautions
Static Control:
During filling or emptying of the FIBC Bag (FIBC Bulk Bag Tape), the movement of the product generates significant static charges. Therefore, in potentially flammable environments, necessary static control measures such as using anti-static materials and grounding should be taken. Users should take consideration and choose proper type (normal type or anti-static type) of FIBC Bags in their typical scenarios.
Storage and Transportation:
Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or damp conditions to ensure its service life and performance. Recommend to stock the Bags in dry and cool places.
